Manhattan Regional Airport Launches Redesigned Web Site
Wednesday, July 29, 2009
The Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK) recently announced the launch of its redesigned Web site,
www.flymhk.com
The site features a new, user-friendly design and a wealth of travel specific information including: low cost airfares from MHK to destinations world-wide, arrival-departure times, and traveler information. Visitors to the site can explore lodging, ground transportation options, and restaurant information collected from all of communities in the region. Links to community information web sites can also be found at
www.flymhk.com
One highlight of the site is the Trip Comparison Calculator. This feature shows the affordability, as an actual dollar amount, of flying directly from Manhattan Regional Airport as compared to flying out of Kansas City International. By calculating all associated costs including ticket price, driving distance, vehicle miles-per-gallon, and gas pricing, a traveler can easily see total travel costs.
“When compared to Kansas City, many of the MHK fares are nearly equal, and often less expensive,” said airport director Peter VanKuren.
After exploring all ticketing options, a user can book their flights directly from the site.
“The site is designed to be a comprehensive resource for those flying in and out of the region,” said VanKuren. “The updated Web site and new jet service make MHK a real competitor with airports in Kansas City and Wichita. For travelers looking for special pricing, flymhk.com should be one of the first sites that a person searches, as American Eagle will be posting special fares to the site on a regular basis.”
The new American Eagle jet service will begin August 25, and will provide two daily direct flights from Manhattan to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW). From DFW, American and American Eagle operate approximately 745 daily departures to more than 150 nonstop destinations. Together, American Airlines and American Eagle serve 34 international destinations from Dallas/Fort Worth, depending on the season.
“We are very excited about the new services the Airport has to offer,” said VanKuren. “Both the Web site and added jet service are improving upon what we already provide to visitors and residents of the Flint Hills Region.”
